Formed in 2008 the Hammer City Roller Girls' Death Row Dames enjoyed a successful first season, playing their inagural game at Beast of the East Tournament in Montreal, April of 2008. The Dames celebrated wins at home against Ottawa's Bytown Blackhearts and Kitchener's Tri City Roller Derby, and were champions of the Virgin Suicide Brawl tournament in Toronto in July. For the 2009 season the team has made the addition of HCRG veterans and some exciting new skaters, and plans to work hard to build upon its reputation as a hard hitting team.
