No Cover - Fun on tap!
Bingo and Karaoke is so AWESOME, we just had to do it again.
If you can handle more festivities than the usual fun, the rockin RENEGADE KARAOKE returns, it's CANADA DAY too so we're adding extra special super fun like a BBQ, spiked slushies, and FIREWORKS!
As for Bingo, buy your bingo cards and dabbers from a skater to try your hand at winning HCRG and cash prizes all night. We'll have some brand new Eh! Team shirts for sale as well as some fun contests (boat races, hoola hooping - maybe even something called the 'Shark Tank'). Don't leave without taking a turn to rock the mic with RENEGADE KARAOKE - dedicate your tune to your favourite skater!
The HCRG's Eh! Team will have just returned from the East Coast Derby Extravaganza in Philadelphia - all proceeds from this evening will help cover their travel costs for that as well as some more derby games in the fall.
The team now knows that bingo can definitely be as competitive as derby so get ready to Bring Your Eh! Game!!!

ROLLER DERBY RETURNS TO HAMILTON SATURDAY, JUNE 19!
Hammer City Hosts London!
Death Row Dames VS Thames Fatales!
Doors 6:00 pm Game at 7:00pm. The Hammer City Roller Girls have played teams from London's Forest City Derby Girls in the past, the last meeting of the two was when the Death Row Dames met the Thames Fatales in a close game at the 2009 Beast of the East Tournament in Montreal. It was short and sweet, and ended up with the Dames pulling off a win - but that was many derby bouts ago. Can the home team in black and blue put the skaters from Forest City in lockdown? Based on the efforts of the Dames at recent practices with their sister team, the Hamilton Harlots, it's a safe bet!
For adults, tickets are $10.00 in advance (This Ain't Hollywood, 345 James St North) and $12.00 at the door.
Children's tickets are $5.00 or free if under 4' tall. Family Passes $25 (2 Adults and 2 Kids) available at the door.
Also for the kids, there will be a craft table, face painting and half time contests. In the spirit of supporting those less fortunate in our community fans are asked to bring a non perishable food item to donate to our FOOD DRIVE.
After party at This Ain't Hollywood!

MOTHER'S
DAY MASSACRE IV!
The 4th installment of the Hammer City season on May 8 at
Dundas' Market Steet Arena was a great success. Many fans,
seasoned and green, eagerly welcomed the new rosters on both
teams - the skaters making their debuts in Hamilton were equally
happy to skate out to their home town crowd for the first
time. With all that pleasantry over, the game of hard hitting
roller derby got underway. Death Row Dames burst out of the
gate with a first jam 10-0, but after that the Harlots clawed
back and came out on top at the end of the first half. Leading
by a big margin coming into the final 30 minutes, the Harlots
continued their run no matter what the Dames threw at them.
Power jams and strategic moves from sides changed the pace
of the play but the Harlots skated on to a158 -106 victory
The Dames may have lost this battle but they know they haven't
lost the war, and plan to kick it hard at practices ahead
of these two teams meeting again. In the meantime here are
some great pics from Derek Lang aka Bagel Hot!

Currently we have a long commute out of Hamilton to our
practice space and can only hold games locally when the ice
comes out of the city arenas - we'd love to house our own
track! We require 10 000 sq ft of flat surface (preferably
wood or concrete) in a free standing structure. Ideally this
building has 20ft ceilings and no pillars in the centre. Send
any information with available space to: info@hammercityrollergirls.ca
Eh! Team's
Minnesota Road Trip Recap
The HCRG Eh! Team has returned from it's furthest road trip
yet, where we competed against two teams ranked in the top
third of the WFTDA rankings.
We were thrilled to play our first 2 WFTDA sanctioned games!
The first game against the Minnesota Roller Girls All Stars
of St. Paul, Minnesota was played in front of 3500 spectators
at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium and the second was played across
the river in Minneapolis against North Star Roller Girls'
Supernovas early the next morning.
See links below for bout recaps courtesy of Derby News Network
and the MNRG. The games were tough and the scores do not reflect
the effort made or the skills learned on our part. Thanks
to our two host leagues for taking great care of us during
our visit, and the fans, friends, and family who supported
our efforts to make it to Minnesota.
The Eh! Team is back in training for its next game against
Fort Wayne, Indiana's Bomb Squad in February, 2010.
